Women's Hockey Falls to Wolverines in Season Opener

DEARBORN, Mich.-- The Lawrence Tech women's hockey team opened up their 2024-25 season Friday on the road at D1 Michigan-Dearborn, falling 3-0. The Blue Devils open up their season 0-1 overall, while the Wolverines are 1-0 overall.

Lawrence Tech junior goalie Rachel Hart (0-1), made 48 saves.

Hart, playing phenomenal, wasn't allowing anything past her, making 17 saves before the Wolverines found the back of the net for their first goal at the 16:04 mark of the first period. Just 3 minutes and 16 seconds later, the Wolverines scored one more goal to close out the first period, with the Blue Devils heading into the second period down 2-0.

The Wolverines controlled most of the second period, but Hart standing on her head, not allowing Michigan-Dearborn to score. The second period ended scoreless, as the Blue Devils look to come back in the third period.

The Wolverines were able to put one more goal past Hart at the 13:06 mark of the third period. That concluded the scoring, ending the game at 3-0.

The Blue Devils will be back in action Saturday hosting D1 Michigan State at a 5pm puck drop.
