YPSILANTI, Mich. - On January 10th, 2025, the Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils encountered a formidable challenge in their first game of 2025, falling to the Eastern Michigan Eagles with a staggering 9-3 score.
The Blue Devils, cheered on by a hopeful home crowd, started the game with high energy. However, the Eagles quickly took control, leading the game 4-1 by the end of the first period. Lawrence Tech's lone goal during this period came from freshman

As the game progressed, Eastern Michigan continued to dominate, adding three more goals by the close of the second period and bringing the score to 7-2. As senior
Athena Chapman and Bebus were able to put two more goals up for the Blue Devils. The third period saw no reprieve for the Blue Devils, as their opponents secured two additional goals. Despite a valiant effort from Lawrence Tech's goalie, sophomore
Chloe Lemke, who faced 32 shots and made 25 saves and junior
Rachel Hart, who faced 20 shots and made 18 saves, the team could not stem the tide of Eastern Michigan's aggressive play.
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - On January 11th, 2025, the Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils re-matched the Eagles of Eastern Michigan, falling 5-1.
The Blue Devils were able to hold off the Eagles in the first period, holding them to a 0-0 game. The Eagles came out hard in the second period, taking a 3-0 lead. Eastern Michigan took continued to apply pressure in the third period as they extended their lead to 4-0. Freshman
Alexis Zielinski was able to put the Blue Devils on the board with the assist from freshman

Sophia Buckberger. The Eagles closed out the game with another goal, taking home the sweep.
Despite the effort from Lawrence Tech's goalie, junior
Rachel Hart, who faced 29 shots and made 24 saves, the team could not hold off the heat from Eastern Michigan.
The Blue Devils are now looking forward to a chance for redemption as they face Hope College on January 17-18th The team stands at a current record of 9-8-3 and hopes to leverage this experience to make strategic adjustments.
