Grand Rapids, Mich. — The Lawrence Tech University women's basketball team dropped a road contest Wednesday evening, falling 64–46 to Aquinas College at the Aquinas Athletic Center.

The Blue Devils opened the game with strong defensive energy, holding Aquinas to just 10 points in the first quarter, but struggled to find an offensive rhythm early, trailing 10–6 after the opening period. Aquinas began to pull away in the second quarter, shooting efficiently from the floor and building a 30–19 lead heading into halftime.

Lawrence Tech continued to battle in the third quarter, getting to the free-throw line and limiting second-chance opportunities, but Aquinas extended its advantage through consistent inside scoring and transition offense, taking a 50–31 lead into the final period.

The Blue Devils showed resilience in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Saints 15–14 over the final 10 minutes. Abby Rey led Lawrence Tech with 12 points, while Paetyn Miller provided a spark off the bench with eight points, including a pair of three-pointers. The Blue Devils also received six points each from LaChelle Moreland-Jones, Ella Haupert, Liv Linden, and Sydney Garon.

Moreland-Jones paced Lawrence Tech on the boards with seven rebounds as the Blue Devils finished the night with 36 total rebounds. Despite forcing 17 Aquinas turnovers, Lawrence Tech struggled shooting the ball, finishing the game at 25.5 percent from the field and 26.9 percent from beyond the arc.

Aquinas was led by Paige Guernsey, who posted a game-high 25 points and 11 rebounds, while Emily Cline added a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Lawrence Tech will look to build on its late momentum as the Blue Devils continue conference play later this week at home vs Cleary on Saturday.
