LTU Softball Ends Spring Break Trip On A High Note!

VIERA WEST, Fla. — Lawrence Tech split a spring break doubleheader Saturday at the Space Coast Complex, falling 1-0 in extra innings to Florida National before bouncing back with a 9-2 win over Indiana University South Bend.

In game one, the Blue Devils dropped a tight pitcher's duel despite a dominant outing from Natilee Pridemore. The freshman right-hander threw a complete-game eight-inning performance, allowing just one run on six hits while striking out eight and walking two.

Florida National scored the game's only run in the top of the eighth when Bianca Bartow delivered an RBI single to break a scoreless tie. Lawrence Tech out-hit Florida National 9-6 and placed runners on base throughout the game but left nine runners stranded. Alexis Lana led the Blue Devils with two hits.

In game two, Lawrence Tech responded with a strong offensive showing in a 9-2 victory over IU South Bend. Sarah Basket led the way with a complete-game performance in the circle, allowing two runs on six hits while striking out five. She also sparked the offense with a solo home run to begin a five-run sixth inning that helped put the game out of reach.

The Blue Devils totaled 15 hits in the win. Alyssa Bloomfield and Brenna Crittenden each recorded three hits, while Lana added two hits and two RBIs. Ashley Stafford also contributed two hits and two RBIs as Lawrence Tech steadily pulled away after building an early 3-0 lead.

The split brought the Blue Devils spring break record to 8-4 on the week and an overall 11-5 on the year. LTU will look ahead to their next game March 21st vs the University of Northwestern Ohio as they will host the Racers for their first home games of the season.
