FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - In the opening game of the doubleheader, Lawrence Tech secured a dominant 9-2 victory over Grace Christian (MI). The Blue Devils took advantage of early miscues by the Tigers, who committed four errors during the contest. LTU's offense was consistent throughout, outhitting Grace Christian 10 to 6.
Sydney Mayer delivered a strong performance in the circle for the Blue Devils, holding the Tigers to just two runs—one in each of the first two innings—before shutting them down for the remainder of the game. The Tigers were unable to string together enough offense to overcome the deficit.
The second matchup was a back-and-forth offensive battle that saw Lawrence Tech narrowly edge out Grace Christian 11-10. The Tigers' offense exploded in the fourth inning, plating six runs to take a significant lead. However, the Blue Devils mounted a late-game comeback, scoring five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to reclaim the lead. LTU finished with 12 hits, including five doubles and a triple, and capitalized on six errors by the Tigers' defense to sweep the day's series.
The Blue Devils will be back in action on the 25th, where they will face off against Rochester Christian in a WHAC showdown.Â
