VIERA WEST, Fla. — Lawrence Technological University took back-to-back victories in Sunday's doubleheader at the Space Coast Complex, highlighted by strong pitching and timely offense from the Blue Devils.
In game one, Lawrence Tech defeated Trinity Christian College 5-1 behind a dominant performance from Sarah Basket. The right-hander tossed a complete-game two-hitter, allowing one run while striking out seven.
The Blue Devils broke a scoreless tie with three runs in the fifth inning, sparked by a two-run double from Alyssa Bloomfield and an RBI double from Zoey Markey. LTU added two more runs in the sixth on RBIs from Jacqui LeBlanc and Bloomfield to seal the win. Bloomfield finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs, while LeBlanc and Alexis Lana each added two hits.
In game two, Lawrence Tech rallied to defeat Wilmington College 7-4 after falling behind early. Natilee Pridemore delivered the decisive swing in the third inning with a two-run home run that gave the Blue Devils a 5-4 lead.
Pridemore led the offense with four RBIs, including a two-run double in the first inning that tied the game. Lawrence Tech continued to add insurance runs in the middle innings, finishing with 14 hits on the night.
Basket also earned the win in relief, throwing 3.2 scoreless innings while allowing just one hit and striking out three to secure the victory. The Blue Devils are back in action Tuesday afternoon as they play Bloomfield College and Clarke University in another Space Coast Spring games doubleheader.
