FORT WAYNE, Ind. - In a back-and-forth battle, Lawrence Tech narrowly fell to Indiana Tech in the second round of the WHAC Tournament. The Blue Devils jumped out to an early lead in the first inning after
Natilee Pridemore homered to score
Brenna Crittenden and herself, followed by an RBI triple from
Zoey Markey and an RBI single from
Natilee Pridemore in the third inning. Despite the offensive production, Indiana Tech rallied late, scoring five runs in the final two frames to secure the win.
Natilee Pridemore pitched a complete game, striking out three.
Ashley Stafford and
Brenna Crittenden both had two hits in the 11-hit game from the Blue Devils, but it was not enough to take down Indiana Tech.
Lawrence Tech's season officially came to a close following a 6-3 loss to Lourdes in the elimination bracket. Lourdes took an early 3-0 lead in the first inning and maintained control throughout the contest. The Blue Devils fought back in the third inning when Natilee Pridemore homered and in the fourth inning when Ashley Stafford hit an RBI double, but Lourdes further added to their lead and held the Blue Devils back. Sarah Basket started the game in the circle, with Mikayla Timm and Delaney Monroe providing relief.
With these two losses in the WHAC Tournament, the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils conclude their season with a final overall record of 27-16 and a 13-7 conference record.
