Ryan Hilton begins his 5th season with the Blue Devils, having joined Lawrence Tech in time for the 2019-2020 season, after having spent the past twenty years coaching baseball at both the collegiate and high school levels in Michigan, Florida, and New York. 

Hilton is currently working with the Blue Devils pitching staff, after having spent time with the duties on the offensive side of the game.

Hilton has had the privilege to coach many outstanding players that have been able to reach their goals of playing college, minor league, and MLB baseball over the years.

Hilton spent the four years prior to joining Lawrence Tech, as the varsity head coach of the South Lyon East Cougars, where he helped improve the programs win total during the first three years and also appeared in three straight District Championship games, winning the District title in 2017.

Prior to South Lyon East, Hilton spent two years, 2012-2014, as an assistant coach at Oakland University. While there, Hilton was the position coach for catchers, as well as the third base coach. Other responsibilities included offensive base running, working with hitters and reinforcing hitting philosophies, along with playing a large role in recruiting.

From 2005-2012, Hilton coached at Braden River HS, in Bradenton, Florida. After being the pitching coach for two seasons, Hilton took over as the varsity head coach in 2007, at which time he led his teams to a State Regional playoff appearances and won two District Championships, with back–to–back league titles that included 28 straight league wins. The team ERA & Fielding Percentage ranked in the Top-10 in the State of Florida multiple times, including a 1.94 team ERA in 2009. During that time, Hilton coached 13 All-Area players, three All-State players and 20+ players that went on to play at the collegiate & professional levels.

Before moving to Florida, Coach Hilton served as the pitching coach for Troy High School (MI). In 2004, Troy HS won both District & Regional titles, as they finished as the #5 ranked team in the State of Michigan.

Hilton played college baseball at NCAA Division I Canisius College, a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in Buffalo, NY from 1993–1995. Hilton pitched as both a starter and relief pitcher during his time at Canisius, and was part of the 1994 team that won the regular–season MAAC title, along with setting a conference record with 17 wins.

Hilton started his coaching career at Canisius College in 1996 -1997 as a volunteer assistant and Head Coach of the Canisius College freshman baseball team and also spent one year as a volunteer assistant at D'Youville College (DIII). 

Hilton graduated from Canisius College with a bachelor's degree in physical education, health & recreation. Ryan lives in South Lyon with his wife Marcy, son Brodie & daughter Avery.
