Lauren Byrd

Lauren B. Byrd has been at Lawrence Tech since 2015, but was named as the first head coach of
the LTU cheer team in November of 2020.

Byrd was born and raised in Metro Detroit and is a graduate of Marygrove College in Detroit, MI
with a bachelor's degree in dance performance. She cheered on her high school team at
Churchill High School in Livonia under Heidi Richardson for three of her four years and cheered
for two years at Marygrove College under Chantelle Yancy.

Lauren coached the JV and Varsity cheer teams at Robichaud High School and helped with
cheer camps in Michigan. She has danced for both the Detroit Pistons Dance Team Automotion
as well as the Detroit Tigers Energy Squad.

She has also been involved in the Miss America Organization since 2007, competing from 2007
until 2013. She has won many awards throughout the Miss America Organization including Miss
Congeniality, Talent, and Miss Lighthouse Coast 2013. Lauren has choreographed many talents
including, but not limited to, Miss Michigan 2018, Miss Oakland County 2015, and Miss Jackson
Crossroads 2015. She has also helped produce many pageants in Michigan and is now the Miss
Oakland County Teen Director.
