Biography

An imposing 6’8” center, Werner Killen was a Blue Devil basketball powerhouse, 1951-54. He scored 1,748 points in 81 games, earning him second place in LTU’s annals of all-time high scorers, just behind fellow Hall of Famer John Bradley, Jr. Killen scored 30 points or more in 14 games, his highest being 51 points. An NAIA All-American in 1954, Killen helped bring the team to the NAIA Tournament that year. The Baltimore Bullets (Now the Washington Wizards) drafted him in 1954.
