Brian Roelandt is the Assistant Director of Bands at Lawrence Technological University.
Roelandt has joined the Blue Devils Band family after a successful teaching career as Director of Bands at Fitzgerald HS in Warren, Michigan. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from Central Michigan University and a Master in Educational Leadership degree from Saginaw Valley State University. Roelandt is a member of the American School Band Directors Association, National Association for Music Education, and the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association Emeritus. During his teaching career, Roelandt led his bands to earn many state and national awards. He also received several teaching honors including a Wayne County Golden Apple Award, Harper Woods WDIV teacher of the Year, MSBA Educational Excellence Award, Grammy Foundation Signature School Finalist, Grammy Enterprise Award Winner, and a Grammy Educator Award Quarter Finalist in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
Roelandt also performs on the saxophone professionally in several local bands and continues to work as an adjudicator, clinician, and private lesson instructor.
