Richard Case is the Percussion Director for the Bands at Lawrence Technological University.
He earn his bachelor of music education, K 12 from Oakland University, and as a proud grizzly alumni, attending Oakland, he studied underneath Dan Maslanka, Dr. Greg Cunningham, as well as Dr. Joseph Shively. As a member of the percussion ensemble under Maslanka, Case, as well as the other members, earned a coveted
Matilda award for their efforts in the creation of the Percussion Pops! ensemble. Case has performed with the Independent A and Open class champion Eastside Fury Percussion Ensemble, the Pontiac Oakland Symphony, the NABBA award winning Oakland University Brass Band, Pan Jumbies, as well as many other groups and the
surrounding area the last twenty five years.Â
Case earned his masters degree in curriculum, design and teacher leadership and remains an active clinician for
percussion instructing at numerous locations through the metro Detroit area. He is happily married, and the father of one. In his spare time he likes fishing, as well as golf.
