Scott Marzolino became the second golf coach in Lawrence Tech history, as he was named Josh Heiple's successor on June 1, 2018. Marzolino took over a program that finished in the top three in the conference during its first four years of competition.
Marzolino led his Men's team to five first place finishes, and two top-5 finishes. The men entered the WHAC Championships as the #1 seed and were successful to bring home the conference championship for the third time in the last four years! At the conference tournament, Luis Pacheco, Liam McEvoy and Santiago Herrero were named All-Conference First Team and Anthony Zeitler earned Champion of Character honors. Coach Marzolino was named 2024 WHAC Coach of the Year for the third of the last four years. Richard Bramley, Diego Courtney, Caden Gloss, Santiago Herrero, Logan Kuhn, Liam McEvoy and Anthony Zeitler earned Academic All-WHAC honors as well!
The 2023-2024 campaign saw the LTU men compete in the NAIA National Championships in Dalton, Georgia, their third nationals appearance in LTU history. While the team missed the cut by a mere 2 shots, Liam McEvoy advanced past the cut as an individual and had an outstanding tournament, finishing T-12 overall... highest finish of an LTU golfer in the history of the program!

During the 2022 golf season, Marzolino led his team to six first place finishes, and seven top-5 finishes. The men entered the WHAC Championships as the #1 seed. On the final day, the men saw themselves facing a high powered UNOH team. After being down seven strokes on the final day, the team persevered to come back and force a playoff hole. The Blue Devils would beat UNOH on the first playoff hole to secure the WHAC Championship trophy for the second straight year. At the conference tournament, Thomas Delmas, Liam McEvoy, and Victory Quiennec were named All-Conference First Team, Bruno Vicente was named to All-Conference Second Team, and Anthony Zeitler earned Champion of Character honors. Coach Marzolino was named 2022 WHAC Coach of the Year for the second straight season.Â
The 2021 campaign saw the LTU men win their first WHAC Championship to advance to the NAIA National Championships, their first nationals appearance in LTU history. At the conference tournament, Luis Pacheco finished as the WHAC Medalist, another first in LTU history, on his way to being namedÂ
Player of the Year while Bruno Vicente wonÂ
Newcomer of the Year. For his efforts, Marzolino was honored as 2021 WHAC Coach of the Year.Â

Before coming to Southfield, Marzolino spent 13 years at the helm of the Madonna University women’s golf program, where coincidently he was their second-ever head coach. He guided the Crusaders to five Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference championships (2009, 2010 regular season, 2010-11 regular season and tournament and 2013 tournament) during his tenure, while also being named WHAC Coach of the Year four times (2009, 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2014-15). Following the 2014-15 regular season, Marzolino was also tabbed as the WHAC’s Coach of Character for displaying the NAIA’s five core values of respect, responsibility, servant leadership, integrity, and sportsmanship after a vote of his fellow coaches.
Â
At Madonna, Michelle Hall became the schools' first WHAC individual champion under Marzolino’s coaching, winning the crown twice (2010, 2011-12) before freshman Karen Zambrano earned WHAC Newcomer of the Year honors under Marzolino's guidance in 2015-16.
Â
Academically, Marzolino's student-athletes have earned over a dozen NAIA Scholar-Athlete awards while being named to the WHAC All-Academic Team 18 times during his tenure. Marzolino was elected as the WHAC women’s golf chair in 2007 and has held that post ever since. He serves as the link between the WHAC executive committee and his fellow coaches.
Â
A 1990 graduate of Grand Valley State University, Marzolino earned his master's degree from Wayne State University in 1993 and has continued his executive education at Tulane University in 2003 as well as at the University of Notre Dame in 2008.
