Scott Marzolino

Scott Marzolino became the second golf coach in Lawrence Tech history, as he was named Josh Heiple's successor on June 1, 2018. Marzolino took over a women's program that finished in the top three in the conference during its first four years of competition.
 

During the 2024-2025 golf season, 
LTU Women's Golf
- Marzolino led his Women's team to four first place finishes, and four top-5 finishes. The women entered the WHAC Championships as the #1 seed and finished with the first WHAC title in school history!  At the conference tournament, Eng Vetchayanvivat and Cadance Beuckelare were named All-Conference First Team, Claire Hollingsworth and Alix Schickele were named All-Conference Second Team and Gretchen Ullrich earned Champion of Character honors. Vetchayanvivat also earned WHAC Golfer of the Year honors!  Coach Marzolino was named 2025 WHAC Coach of the Year for the first time on the women's side!  Beuckelare, Alanna Makarchuk, Schickele, Ella Smith, Ullrich and Vetchayanvivat all earned Academic All-WHAC honors as well and the overall team earned a GPA of 3.41!

- The 2024-2025 campaign saw the LTU women compete in the NAIA National Championships in Ypsilanti, Michigan, their first nationals appearance in LTU history. While the team missed the cut and wrapped up their season there. Eng Vetchayanvivat was the top finisher for the Blue Devils in the event, earning 3rd Team All-American honors!

LTU Men's Golf
- Marzolino led his Men's team to four first place finishes, and two top-5 finishes. The men entered the WHAC Championships as the #2 seed and were successful to bring home the conference championship for the fourth time in the last five years!  At the conference tournament, Liam McEvoy and Martin Wing were named All-Conference First Team, Thiago Ormachea was named All-Conference Second Team and Evan Starrs earned Champion of Character honors. McEvoy also earned WHAC Golfer of the Year honors!  Coach Marzolino was named 2025 WHAC Coach of the Year for the fourth time in the last five years. Richard Bramley, Caden Gloss, Santiago Herrero, Liam McEvoy and Francisco Mustico earned Academic All-WHAC honors as well and the overall team earned a GPA of 3.47!

- The 2024-2025 campaign saw the LTU men compete in the NAIA National Championships in Silvis, Illinois, their fourth nationals appearance in LTU history. While the team missed the cut by a mere 10 shots and wrapped up their season there. Liam McEvoy and Martin Wing were the top finishers for the Blue Devils in the event!

Before coming to LTU, Marzolino spent 13 years at the helm of the Madonna University women’s golf program, where coincidently he was their second-ever head coach. He guided the Crusaders to four WHAC championships (2009, 2010, 2011 and 2013), while being named WHAC Coach of the Year four times (2009, 2012, 2013 and 2015). Following the 2014-15 regular season, Marzolino was also tabbed as the WHAC’s Coach of Character for displaying the NAIA’s five core values of respect, responsibility, servant leadership, integrity, and sportsmanship after a vote of his fellow coaches.  At Madonna, Michelle Hall became the schools' first WHAC individual champion under Marzolino’s coaching, winning the crown twice (2010, 2011-12) before freshman Karen Zambrano earned WHAC Newcomer of the Year honors under Marzolino's guidance in 2015-16.
 
Academically, Marzolino's student-athletes have earned over two dozen NAIA Scholar-Athlete awards while being named to the WHAC All-Academic Team 19 times during his tenure. Marzolino was elected as the WHAC women’s golf chair in 2007 and has held that post ever since, serving as the link between the WHAC executive committee and his fellow coaches.
 

A 1990 graduate of Grand Valley State University, Marzolino earned his master's degree from Wayne State University in 1993 and has continued his executive education at Tulane University in 2003 as well as at the University of Notre Dame in 2008. He currently works for Dell.
 

Marzolino and his wife Dina have three daughters.
