On Monday, the Lady Blue Devils battled against the Concordia Cardinals hoping the third time would be the charm. Unfortunately, Concordia defeated the Devils for the third time this season with scores of 16 - 25, 22 - 25, 19 - 25. Still, each time the Devils have played the Cardinals they have closed the scoring gap.
"Our team played very consistently and we lost three hard fought games," said Devil's Head Volleyball Coach Larry Wyatt. "Concordia made a lot of errors but we were unable to capitalize on them."
Two senior Cardinal hitters primarily carried the load for their team. The Lady Devils were able to hold the rest of the Cardinals to a negative hitting percentage.
Junior middle hitter Joy Sportel provided strong attacks and blocking for the Devil's. Junior Gena Briolat and Sophomore Alicia Miller both led the Devils with 26 total attacks each.
