SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - Nicole Propst (SO/Warren, MI) equalized the match on a deflection from a Claire Huddas (JR/Canton, MI) free kick to give the Lawrence Tech women's soccer team a tied against (RV) Aquinas College (Mich.) 1-1, after exhausting regulation and both overtime periods.
Aquinas took a 1-0 lead on an Allison VanPatten goal that was setup by a Claire Krohn free kick. However, Propst tied it three minutes later as that was all the scoring for the contest.
Lawrence Tech (5-9-3, 0-6-2) was outshot 17-8 in the match, including 14-4 on shots on goal. Heather Derstine (SO/Midland, MI) was once again spectacular in net making 13 saves compared to Aquinas three, with two coming in the final minutes of regulation.
In the first overtime, the Blue Devils lone shot attempt by Amber Klavon (SR/Jackson, MI) was blocked. Lawrence Tech brought pressure in the second overtime however as Klavon made Lindsay Armstrong make a diving save to keep it, 1-1. Alexandra Bryden (JR/Canton, MI) and Sarah Britain (SO/Kalamazoo, MI) both had corner kicks and Huddas' shot sailed wide as the game remained deadlocked at, 1-1.
Lawrence Tech wraps up the season on Saturday, Nov. 1 as they host Madonna University (Mich.) at 12:30pm at the LTU Athletic Field.
