SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Lawrence Tech women's soccer team lost to No. 11 University of Northwestern Ohio 3-0 on Saturday, Oct. 4 at the LTU Athletic Field.

Lawrence Tech (5-5-2, 0-2-1 WHAC) struggled early in the match to generate any offense as they could not put a shot on net in the first 45 minutes. At the other end of the field, Northwestern Ohio (9-0-1, 3-0 WHAC) took 14 shots - seven on frame, scoring two goals. Alice Coyne gave UNOH a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute after receiving a pass from Pauline Quesson. The Racers made it 2-0 as Hanna Ruohomaa found the back of the net with two minutes left in the first half.

The Blue Devils played strong defensively in the second half as Heather Derstine (SO/Midland, MI) battled to keep Lawrence Tech in the game, making big saves to keep the match within reach. However, the Racers were able to get one more past Derstine as Ella Huusko scored on a pass from Ruohomaa to make it 3-0 in the 83rd minute.

Caitlin Orgera (FR/Andover, KS) had two shots on goal for the Blue Devils in the loss. Derstine finished with nine saves.

LTU is back on the pitch Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 4pm as they play host to Cornerstone University (Mich.).
