SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- The Lawrence Tech women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 contest to Madonna University (Mich.) on Senior Day at the LTU Athletic Field. The Blue Devils complete their third season with a 5-10-3 overall mark.
LTU honored senior Amber Klavon at haltime, thanking her for her two-year contributions to the Blue Devils team and LTU community. Klavon, a junior college transfer, collected three goals and an assist from her defensive postition, while contibuting to six shutout matches as a Blue Devil.
On the pitch, the LTU fell behind 1-0 on Ashley Parent's first of two goals. Parent scored on an assist from Jessica Witt in the 22nd minute. Two minutes later, Parent notched her second goal on an assist from Jennifer Jurcak to make it 2-0 with 21 minutes left in the half.
Lawrence Tech was unable to mount any offensive attack in the first half, taking only two shots - none on net. The Blue Devils were outshot, 6-2.
In the second half, it was all Madonna early on as Katlyn Krysiak took a Jennifer Jurcak cross and buried it past the keeper to give the Crusaders a 3-0 lead with 39 minutes left in regulation.
Claire Huddas had one last chance to get on the Blue Devils on the board in the 85th minute, but her shot hit the crossbar and sailed out of bounds.
Heather Derstine made six saves, while facing nine shots on goal.
