SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - Claire Huddas (JR/Canton, MI) scored the game-winning goal in the 96th minute as Lawrence Tech defeated Huntington University (Ind.) 1-0 at the LTU Athletic Field on Sept. 24. The Blue Devils close out their non-conference schedule with a 5-3-1 mark, including a two game winning-streak heading into a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) match against No. 8 Davenport University on Sept. 27.

The Blue Devils had a few chances early as Caitlin Orgera (FR/Andover, KS) hooked a shot wide in the fifth minute, followed by Lisa Zaffina (JR/Waterford, MI) sailing a ball just above the cross bar a minute later.

Lawrence Tech finished with seven shots in the first half, forcing Huntington to make three stops. The teams would head into halftime tied at zero.

Late in regulation, Celeste Scott (SO/Dryden, MI) and Sarah Britain (SO/Kalamazoo, MI) both had chances on net but were left empty handed as the game headed into overtime.

In extras, Huddas finally got LTU on the board after she took advantage of a Huntington turnover inside the 18-yard box and finish just inside the near post.

Huddas finished the game with four shots on goal while three other Blue Devils added a shot on frame. Heather Derstine (SO/Midland, MI) made six saves to record her second straight shutout victory - third on the season.
