Blue Devils Overwhelmed by No. 5 UNOH, fall 6-1

LIMA, Ohio - The Lawrence Technological University (LTU) men's soccer team lost 6-1 to No. 5-ranked University of Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday afternoon in Lima, Ohio.

Lawrence Tech (7-7-1, 3-4-1 WHAC) fell behind early on a Sean Latimer goal in the sixth minute, beating Joey Knoff (SR/Midland, MI) low on the near side. The Racers made it 2-0 in the 27th minute when Jorge Salcedo scored off a diving header.

Alek Nestorovski (FR/Shelby Twp., Mich.) finally got the Blue Devils on the board, scoring off a Northwestern Ohio turnover, cutting the Racers lead to 2-1 heading in halftime.

In the second half, it was all Racers as they scored four unanswered goals to take the game 6-1. Latimer and Salcedo both scored again, while Sergio Royo notched two goals in the final 13 minutes.

The Blue Devils were outshot 27-5, including 13-5 on shots on goal. Knoff started in net, playing 78 minutes making seven saves on 13 shots while giving up five goals. Jacob Allen (FR/Cumming, Ga.) played the final 12 minutes, allowing one goal and making no saves.

Lawrence Tech is back on the field Saturday, October 24 when they travel to Ann Arbor, Mich., to face Concordia University - Ann Arbor (Mich.) at 4 p.m.
