SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological University (LTU) men's soccer team hosts the inaugural Blue Devil Classic at the LTU Athletic Field starting Saturday at 2 p.m. LTU faces Huntington College in the opening game, followed by University of Michigan - Dearborn vs. Rochester College at 4 p.m.
Lawrence Tech (1-2) is coming off a 1-1 road trip to the state of Illinois. On Saturday, September 5, the Blue Devils defeated Robert Morris University (RMU) (Ill.) 1-0 in Chicago. On Labor Day, LTU traveled to No. 25 Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) and fell 2-1.
Four different Blue Devils have scored goals this season including Matt Gibiec, Pablo Ripodas, and freshman Chris Serwatka. Joey Knoff has started the last two games, allowing two goals on eight shots including a shutout against RMU.
Huntington (3-2) has won two of its last three games including a 3-0 win over Rochester College on Friday, September 11 at Ultimate Arena in Pontiac, Mich.
Isaac Wust leads the way for the Foresters with four goals and two assists. Max Troyer has recorded two goals and one assist. Huntington has outscored its opponents 15-7 through five games.
All three games will be streamed live on the Lawrence Tech Sports Network (LTSN).
LTU faces Rochester College on Sunday, September 13 at 2 p.m. at the LTU Athletic Field.
