ADRIAN, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's soccer team defeated Siena Heights (Mich.) University 1-0 on Monday night in a rescheduled game from October 1.
Lawrence Tech (7-4-2, 2-3-2 WHAC) took advantage of a corner kick in the 78th minute as Jaccob Sooy served up a ball that Andrew North (FR/Royal Oak, Mich. ) headed into the net for his first collegiate goal to give LTU a 1-0 lead.
Siena Heights (4-8-1, 1-6-0 WHAC) had a chance in the 89th minute to tie it as Alessandro De Santis header was saved by Max Jewett (FR/Sterling Heights, Mich.). It was the eighth and final save of the night for Jewett as LTU went on to seal the win 1-0.
Nico Rbp (FR/Madrid, Spain) led the team with five shots, one on goal while Pablo Ripodas (JR/Navarra, Spain) and Santiago Amigo (SO/Madrid, Spain) each added three shots with Ripodas having one on net.
Lawrence Tech returns to the pitch on Wednesday, October 19 when they host Concordia University - Ann Arbor for the annual Pink Game. Opening kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
