Blue Devils host No. 5 Davenport on Saturday in WHAC action

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's soccer team hosts the fifth-ranked Davenport (Mich.) University in the Panther's final trip to Southfield as they move to NCAA Division II for the 2017-18 season. Opening kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m.

Lawrence Tech (5-2-2, 0-1-2 WHAC) has played three straight overtime games, two ending in ties after double-overtime. The lone WHAC loss was the first of those three games to Cornerstone (Mich.) University 2-1 in overtime. The Blue Devils battled against Indiana Tech to secure the tie after trailing 1-0 and 3-1. Tyler Winningham had the game-tying goal while Max Jewett made a career high 11 saves.

Nico Rbp leads the team with nine goals and five assists for 17 points in nine starts. Winningham adds two goals and two assists in seven starts while Max Jewett has a 1.80 goals against average on 16 shots while making 12 saves on the season.

The Blue Devils rank 35th in the NAIA in goals per game at 2.78. Nico ranks 34th in total assists and assists per game (0.560). Nico also ranks 44th in points per game at 1.89. Matuesz Gibiec and Nico lead the team in game winning goals with two and both rank 50th in the NAIA in that category.

Davenport (8-1-2, 2-0-2) enters the game as the fifth-ranked team in the NAIA. The Panthers have tied two of their last four games including a 0-0 tie against the sixth-ranked Racers of Northwestern Ohio on October 2. They defeated Marygrove (Mich.) University 3-2 in overtime on Wednesday, October 5 at home. In true road games this season, DU is 1-0-1, a 2-1 win at Cornerstone and a 1-1 tie at Lourdes (Ohio) University.

TJ Ifaturoti leads the team with six goals and two assists while Jake Love adds three goals and five assists in 11 starts. In net, Davenport is led by Aaron Orban who is 7-0-2 with 31 saves and 10 goals allowed in 914-plus minutes.

Lawrence Tech is 0-4 all-time against Davenport.
