SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's soccer team travels to No. 4-ranked Davenport (Mich.) University in the 2016 WHAC Tournament quarterfinal game at Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Lawrence Tech (10-5-2, 5-4-2 WHAC) enter the WHAC tournament following the programs most successful season, winning a program best 10 games in the regular season. The Blue Devils closed the season with a 2-0 win at Aquinas (Mich.) College.
Nico Rbp (FR/Madrid, Spain) (Rodriguez-Bermejo) leads the team with nine goals and eight assists while Santiago Amigo (SO/Madrid, Spain) sits with four goals on 18 shots. Matuesz Gibiec added three goals, all game-winning, this season. In goal, Max Jewett (FR/Sterling Heights, Mich.) has started nine games this season with four shutouts on 41 saves with 14 goals against.
Davenport (15-1-2, 9-0-2 WHAC) comes into the game riding a hot streak, scoring 21 goals over their last three games including a 6-0 win at Indiana Tech to end the regular season. TJ Ifaturoti leads the squad with 10 goals and four assist while Jake Love adds eight goals and seven assists. Cam Cavanagh and Brogan Shrimpton each finished the regular season with six goals each. Aaron Orban mans the net and is 14-0-2 with 49 saves and 13 goals allowed in 17 games played this season.
The Blue Devils are 0-5 all-time against Davenport including a 2-0 loss in Southfield, Mich., to the Panthers early this season.
