BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. - The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's soccer team won 3-2 against Roosevelt (Ill.) University in the 2016 season opener in Bridgeview, Ill. on Wednesday afternoon. This is the third straight win against the Lakers for LTU.

Roosevelt took an early lead in the first when junior Anna Agboola scored in just the third minute of play. Freshman Tia Lamie (FR/Portage, Mich.) was quick to make it an even game scoring her first collegiate goal in the 15th minute with an assist from Sarah Britain (SR/Kalamazoo, MI).

Adding to the Blue Devils' lead was returning senior Nicole Propst (SR/Warren, MI), who scored seconds into the second period. Ally Nyboer (FR/Grandville, Mich.) would also tally a goal for Lawrence Tech early in the 72nd minute, assisted by Kira Haag (FR/Milford, Mich.).

With minutes left in the game, Agboola would score again in an effort to bolster her Lady Lakers to make a comeback, but the Blue Devils had already clinched the win.

Lamie finished the game with one goal on five shots. Propst added a goal on two shots, and Nyboer would add one goal on three shots. Sarah Trapp (SO/Plymouth, Mich.) recorded four shots and one shot on goal.

Megan Dixon made four saves in the game, all of which coming in the second period. The Lakers goalie, sophomore Kara Jones, had seven saves of her own, two coming in the first period of play and five coming in the second.

LTU returns to action on August 18 when they travel to Hammond, Indiana to face Purdue University Northwest at 2:00 p.m. This will be the Blue Devils' first meeting with PNW. The Pride are offering live stats here.
