LTU Hosts Huntington For Home Opener at 1 P.M.

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological University women's soccer team hosts Huntington (Ind.) University starting at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 25 at the LTU Athletic Field for the 2016 season home opener.

Lawrence Tech (2-0) is returning home after beginning the season with a 3-2 road win over Roosevelt (Ill.) University on Wednesday, August 17. They then cruised past Purdue University Northwest (Ind.) on Thursday, August 18 for a 3-1 victory.

The Blue Devils have scored six goals this season including two apiece from freshmen Tia Lamie (FR/Portage, Mich.) and Ally Nyboer (FR/Grandville, Mich.). Lamie and Nyboer also lead the team with shots taken, both tallying seven - five on goal. Sarah Trapp (SO/Plymouth, Mich.) adds one goal and five shots so far on the season.

Megan Dixon (SR/Andover, MN) and Heather Derstine (SR/Midland, MI) both share one start in the net. Dixon has recorded four saves while allowing two goals and Derstine adds two saves while allowing one goal.

Huntington University enters this match-up 0-0-1 with a double OT draw coming against Rochester College (Mich.). The Foresters took 14 shots in the game, eight of which were on goal. Matea Knispel lead HU with six shots, four of them on goal. Oliva Knispel and Brandi Spear each finished with two shots respectively.

Junior goalie Paige Coolman had six saves in the game.
