SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological University women's soccer team returns to action on September 1, when they travel to Adrian, Michigan to take on Adrian (Mich.) College at 4:00 p.m.
The Blue Devils are coming off a three game winning streak, with their last win against Huntington University on Thursday, August 25. Freshmen Tia Lamie (FR/Portage, Mich.) and Ally Nyboer (FR/Grandville, Mich.) lead all players in shots, both recording six, as well as one goal. Sarah Trapp (SO/Plymouth, Mich.) added a goal from an assist by Nyboer in the 68th minute to further the Blue Devils' lead to 3-0.
Heather Derstine (SR/Midland, MI) was in net for Lawrence Tech, making five saves and allowing no goals. She totals seven saves while allowing only one goal in her two starts.
Lamie and Nyboer have scored three goals apiece on 13 shots, one in each game played so far this season. Trapp adds two goals of her own on 11 shots. Also recording a goal in the 2016 season is senior Nicole Propst (SR/Warren, MI).
This will be the Bulldogs' first match of the 2016 season. They return 21 student-athletes from their 5-9-6 2015 season including seniors Emily Theisen and Sofia Farah, who led the team with two goals apiece.
