SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's soccer team defeated UM-Dearborn on Friday night 3-0 at the LTU Athletic Field in Southfield, Mich.
Lawrence Tech (5-7-1, 2-3-1) opened the scoring in the 18th minute when Lauren Wasiak (FR/Walled Lake, Mich.) chipped in following a lead pass from Tia Lamie (SO/Portage, Mich.) to give LTU a 1-0 lead. Allexus Barnes (FR/Middleville, MI) made it 2-0 in the 31st minute when she was able to muscle the ball past the Wolverines goalkeeper.
UM-Dearborn (0-8, 0-6) had only four shots in the opening half with only two on net. Lawrence Tech finished the first half with 12 shots and two goals.
In the second half, Lawrence Tech added a late goal with Lamie scoring on a pass from Gillian Neubert (SO/Dearborn, Mich.) in the 85th minute to push the lead to 3-0.
Megan Dixon (SR/Andover, Minn.) started in net and finished with the shutout on four saves. Lamie finished with five shots on goal while Alayne Nyboer (SO/Grandville, Mich.) recorded three shots on goal. Waskiak, Barnes, and Lamie all scored for Lawrence Tech.
The Blue Devils are back on the pitch Wednesday, October 18 when they host Concordia (Mich.) University - Ann Arbor. Opening kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
