Lawrence Tech Beats UM-Dearborn 1-0 on Saturday Afternoon

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's soccer team defeated University of Michigan - Dearborn 1-0 on rainy Saturday afternoon at LTU Athletic Field. The Blue Devils have now matched the programs most overall wins in a season and most conference wins in a season with four games left in the regular season.

Lawrence Tech (10-2-2, 6-0-1) scored the lone goal in the 32nd minute as Ryan Resendes beat the goalkeeper from 18 yards out to give LTU the 1-0 lead. Max Jewett only needed to make one save on the day as the Blue Devil defense kept UM-Dearborn to just one shot on goal. Lawrence Tech finished the game with six shots on goal.

UM-Dearborn (4-8-0, 1-6-0) finished the game with just three shots as the Blue Devils were able to outlast the Wolverines final push in the waning moments.

The Blue Devils had four players with two shots on the day including Bryce Nicholson who had on go off the crossbar in the opening minutes of the game. Jewett finished the game with his fifth shutout of the year as he leads the WHAC in that category.

Lawrence Tech remains in first place with a three point lead on Madonna (Mich.) University in the WHAC ladder.

The Blue Devils now hit the road for three of their final four games with Concordia (Mich.) University - Ann Arbor up next on Wednesday, October 18 at 1 p.m. in Ann Arbor, Mich.
