LIMA, Ohio -- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's soccer game lost a tough 3-2 overtime game at University of Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday night in Lima, Ohio.
Lawrence Tech (12-3-2, 8-1-1) lost their first conference game of the season after they opened the game with a 1-0 lead on a goal by Pablo Ripodas (SR/Navarra, Spain). Mateusz Gibiec (SR/Goleszow, Poland) had the assist 11 minutes into the game.
Northwestern Ohio (10-5-1, 7-3-0) responded in the 73rd minute when Dumisani Manyange tied the match up on an assist from Pascal Debowiak. The Blue Devils retook the lead in the 84th minute on a Santiago Amigo (JR/Madrid, Spain) goal off a corner kick. Skyler Russ (SR/Rochester Hills, MI) had the assist. UNOH responded less than 30 seconds later to tie the game at 2-2 with six minutes left in the game.
The Racers scored the game-winning goal in the final minute of overtime to steal the game 3-2.
Max Jewett (SO/Sterling Heights, Mich.) made seven saves in net while Ripodas and Amigo scored the two goals.
Lawrence Tech is now tied atop the WHAC standings with Madonna (Mich.) University with one game remaining on senior day on Saturday, October 28. Opening kick-off is set for 12:30 p.m. against Aquinas (Mich.) College.
