Lawrence Tech Defeats Rochester 2-1 on Friday Night at Ultimate Arena

PONTIAC, Mich. -- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's soccer team defeated Rochester (Mich.) College 2-1 on Friday night at Ultimate Arena in Pontiac, Mich.

Lawrence Tech (4-6-1, 1-2-1) opened the scoring in the 38th minute on a diving header from Sarah Trapp off an Allexus Barnes corner kick to make it 1-0. The Blue Devils' Alayne Nyboer made it 2-0 in the 43rd minute on a goal from 23 yards out. Tia Lamie had the through ball for Lawrence Tech.

Rochester (3-8-0, 0-4-0) got on the board in the 87th minute when Ashlin Taylor's shot got past the Blue Devils goalkeeper to cut the lead to 2-1.

Lawrence Tech outshot the Warriors 24-9 including 10-5 on shots on goal. Lamie led the team with five shots on goal while Trapp and Lamie had the goals for Lawrence Tech.

Lawrence Tech is back on the pitch Wednesday, October 11 when they travel to Madonna (Mich.) University. Opening kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
