LIMA, OHIO -- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's soccer team falls 3-1 in the first round of the WHAC Tournament to University of Northwestern Ohio (Ohio) in Lima, Ohio on Wednesday, November 1 at 3 pm.

Lawrence Tech's goalkeeper Megan Dixon (SR/Andover, Minn.) got the start, saving five shots in each half for 10 saves on the afternoon. LTU's defense also had their hand at keeping the ball out of the net with four blocks out of the 31 shots from the Northwestern Ohio Racers.

The Blue Devils led the first half with a goal in the 38th minute from Lauren Wasiak (FR/Walled Lake, Mich.) on an assist from Tia Lamie (SO/Portage, Mich.). This is the first goal Lawrence Tech has scored against UNOH since October 5, 2013. Ashley Sherry (FR/Savage, Minn.) had the only other shot, going wide, for a total of two shots the entire game.

The Racers drew even with the Blue Devils in the 61st minute of the second half with a goal from Rikke Sevecke. After fighting off the Racer forwards, LTU took a foul in the box to give Northwestern Ohio a penalty kick in the 86th minute of the half. This pushed the Racers to a 2-1 lead. Finally, with one minute left in the game, the Racers scored again with a header from a corner kick to seel the 3-1 win.

This game is the last for the Blue Devils, rounding out their overall record to 7-10-1, and 4-5-1 in the WHAC.
