Blue Devils Defeat Great Lakes Christian 83-35 at Southfield Elementary School Day

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's basketball team defeated Great Lakes Christian (Mich.) College 83-35 on Wednesday morning at the Don Ridler Field House.

Lawrence Tech (3-0) welcomed the Southfield School District Elementary Schools to the game and saw a record crowd of 940 at the Don Ridler Field House. Teryn Kline led the way for LTU with a career high 19 points on 7-for-14 shooting from the field. Emily Langolf added seven points and a career high 11 rebounds in the win. Nicole Buckingham added 10 points while Hayley Walkowski finished with six points and seven rebounds.

The Blue Devils built an 18-6 lead on the Lakes after the first quarter and dominated the second quarter 23-3 to take a 41-9 lead at the break.

Great Lakes Christian (0-3) came out of halftime and held a 11-9 advantage in the third, but LTU closed the quarter with 15 points to take 56-20 lead after three quarters. Lawrence Tech added 27 points in the fourth quarter to win the game 83-35.

Lawrence Tech is back on the court starting Nov. 10 for the two-day Indiana Wesleyan University Tournament in Marion, Ind. They face Robert Morris (Ill.) University on Friday at 8 p.m. and face host [RV] Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday at 3 p.m.
