Blue Devils Find Groove in Second Half, Defeat Cleary 3-0

HOWELL, Mich. -- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's soccer team defeated Cleary (Mich.) University 3-0 on Wednesday night in Howell, Mich.

Lawrence Tech (2-3) had a slow start to the game as they had just two shots on goal while Megan Dixon (SR/Andover, Minn.) made one save in the first half to keep the game scoreless.

In the second half, the offensive pace picked up with the Blue Devils scoring in the 71st minute on a goal from Tia Lamie (SO/Portage, Mich.), her second of the season, to give LTU a 1-0 lead. Madilyn Donaghy (JR/Auburn Hills, Mich. ) had the assists. Less than two minutes later, Donaghy was on the receiving end this time, making it 2-0 on an assist from Allexus Barnes (FR/Middleville, MI) off a corner kick.

Lamie added her second of the game from a Katelyn Mather (FR/Bloomfield, Mich.) assist in the 78th minute to seal the 3-0 win at Cleary.

Dixon made five saves while Lamie added her second and third goals of the season. Mather finished with her first assist on the season while Donaghy added three points, her first goal and assists with the Blue Devils.

Lawrence Tech returns to the pitch on Friday, September 15 when they host NCAA Division III Heidleberg (Ohio) University at LTU Athletic Field.
