LTU Suffers First Loss of the Season, 2-1 to Huntington (Ind.); Next up, Holy Cross tomorrow at 1 p.m.

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's soccer team fell to Huntington (Ind.) University 2-1 on Friday afternoon at the LTU Athletic Field in Southfield, Mich.

Lawrence Tech (3-1) took the early lead on a great cross from Bryce Nicholson (FR/Jenison, MI) to Nico Rbp (SO/Madrid, Spain) who headed into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute. Huntington equalized in the 31st minute on a quick pass from Travis Hurtis to Luke Unger who chipped it in from five yards out.

Huntington (2-1-2) took the 2-1 lead in the 64th minute on a through ball that got past Max Jewett (SO/Sterling Heights, Mich.) and Noah Fleming caught up to it, to tap it into the net just before it went out of bounds.

The Blue Devils and Foresters combined for 28 fouls while corner kicks were nearly even with Huntington taking seven and LTU taking six.

Lawrence Tech four shots on goal while Huntington had two - both of their goals. Nico led the way with four shots, three on goal while four players played all 90 minutes - Santiago Amigo (JR/Madrid, Spain), Michael Avila (SO/Toronto, ONT, Canada), Nico, and Adrian Miling (FR/Las Rozas, Madrid, Spain).

The Blue Devils are back on the pitch Saturday, Sept. 9 when they host Holy Cross (Ind.) College at LTU Athletic Field. Opening kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
