Blue Devils Defeat Rochester 3-0 on Homecoming Game to Extend Win Streak to Five

SOUTHFIELD, Mich.- The Lawrence Technological University (Mich.) (8-4-1 | 5-1-0 WHAC) men's soccer team increased its win streak to five wins in a row after defeating Rochester College (Mich.) 3-0 this evening at the LTU Athletic Field. The Blue Devils overshoot the Warriors 23-2, with 13 shots in the first half and 10 in the second. Lawrence Tech's defense allowed only one shot on frame, which was saved by goalkeeper Maxwell Jewett(JR/Sterling Heights, Mich.) in the 12th minute of the second half.

The first goal for the Blue Devils came in the 10th minute of the game when Kevin Wright(JR/Linden, Mich.) pushed the ball to the back of the net from a rebound after goalkeeper Wyatt Chunn saved a shot from Ryan Resendes (SO/Windsor, Ontario, Canada). The score for the first half was 1-0.

Alvaro Garcia (JR/Mallorca, Spain) gave Lawrence Tech the 2-0 lead in the 81st minute with a header off a corner kick by Adrian Miling (SO/Madrid, Spain). Two minutes later, Wright struck once again and scored his second goal of the game after an assist from Jake Rajewski (JR/Midland, Mich.) to set the final score of 3-0. This was Wright's eighth goal of the season, making him the top scorer of the team. Resendes and Wright were the players with most shots during the game, four each.

The Blue Devils will be back on the pitch Saturday, October 13 when they travel to Fort Wayne, Ind. to face Indiana Tech at noon.
