SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological University women's soccer team defeated Lourdes University (Ohio) on the Blue Devil's senior day 1-0 on October 20.

Despite an early rain delay, LTU came out on top against the Gray Wolves by scoring early off a corner kick. The goal was scored by Lauren Wasiak (SO/Walled Lake, Mich.) with an assist by Alayne Nyboer (JR/Grandville, Mich.) in the first period after some jumbling in front of the net when Lourdes goalie, Kiley Transit, could not secure the ball. The Blue Devils move to 7-7-2 overall and 4-4-1 in the WHAC.

This was the last regular season home game for the three seniors who were honored before the game. Jordan Messing (SR/Bruce Twp., Mich.), Sarah Trapp (SR/Plymouth, Mich.) and Marie Anne Torres (SR/Mississauga, Ont., Canada)-Lopez along with their team look onward to their last two regular season games before heading into the WHAC tournament. They are on the road on October 23 where they play Cornerstone University (Mich.) and their last game of the season is only a few days later on October 27 where they play University of Northwestern Ohio (22) down in Lima, Ohio.

WHAC tournament play is set to start on October 31 and will continue until November 10. The higher seeded team will host.
