Blue Devils Dominate First Win on the Road against Rochester College

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological University women's soccer team won their first road game of the season against Rochester College (Mich.) 4-0 on October 9, moving to 5-6-2 overall and 2-3-1 in the WHAC.

Dominating the stats for the first road win of the season were Alayne Nyboer (JR/Grandville, Mich.) and Lauren Wasiak (SO/Walled Lake, Mich.), both scoring two goals each, and Nyboer coming up with an assist. The first goal came only four minutes into the first period from Nyboer. The second goal also came in the first half, only 15 minutes after the first, this time from Lauren Wasiak.

To open the second half, Nyboer scored once again with 57 minutes on the clock. The last goal was scored by Wasiak with the assist from Nyboer right after a corner kick opportunity with less than 15 minutes left on the clock. The Blue Devils outshot the Warriors (3-9-1, WHAC 1-5-0) 33-6 and had more corner kicks with 10-6. The teams matched in a high of 12 fouls each, also having one player from each team receive a yellow card.

In goal was Renee Anderson (FR/Snoqualmie, Wash.) got the start in net and finished with three saves while Madison Turley (FR/Romeo, Mich.) played the second half and made two saves for LTU, who dominated the game from the moment it started.

Up next for Lawrence Tech is a trip down to Fort Wayne, Ind. where they play Indiana Institute of Technology (3-9-0, WHAC 2-3-0) on October 13 where the game is set to start at 3 p.m.
