ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's volleyball team fell to Siena Heights (Mich.) University 3-1 (25-21, 27-25, 20-25, 25-19) on Saturday afternoon in Adrian, Mich. The Blue Devils end the regular season with program records in most wins in a season with 21 and most conference wins in a season with 14.
How it Happened
In the opening the set, the Blue Devils led the Saints 18-16, but a 9-3 run to close the set gave Siena Heights a first set win, 25-21. Lawrence Tech hit 17.2 percent from the field with 13 kills and 58 total attacks.
In the second set, Siena Heights started the set up 6-2, but Lawrence Tech battled back to tie it at 8-8 on a kill from Zakia Hunt (JR/Livonia, Mich.). The Blue Devils won six of the next eight points to take a 14-10 lead following a Krisi Doherty ace. Lawrence Tech continued to hold the lead as they went up 23-30, but the Saints came back to tie it at 24 and 25 before sealing the set win 27-25.
Lawrence Tech battled back to make it a 2-1 match with a 25-20 win in set three as they went up 22-15 on a kill from Isabella McDonald (SO/Farmington, Michigan). McDonald closed the set out with a kill for the 25-20 set win.
Siena Heights needed to come back from a five point deficit in the fourth set as Lawrence Tech led 16-11 to win 25-19. The Saints used a 14-3 run to close the set out and seal the match win, 3-1.

The Blue Devils finish the regular season at 14-6 in the WHAC and tied for third, but earn the fourth seed based on tie-breakers with Lourdes. The Blue Devils will host University of Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday, November 7 at 7 p.m. inside Don Ridler Field House.
