Hockey Programs Prepare for Back to Back Games this Weekend; ACHA DI to Face #15 Indiana Tech, ACHA DIII to Face Calvin

The Lawrence Technological University hockey programs have another weekend chalk full of games to play. First up is a pair of home games for each program. The ACHA DIII squad plays first at home on Friday, October 25th, hosting Calvin University (Mich.) at Farmington Hills Ice Arena where the puck is set to drop at 5:45 p.m.. Following the conclusion of this match, the ACHA DI team takes the ice and hosts a tough 15th in the nation Indiana Institute of Technology team at 8:15 p.m..

Both teams will face the same opponent again on Saturday, October 26th at their respective, Indiana Tech and Calvin, home ice arenas.

For the ACHA DI team, they are hot off a two game slough of Concordia University- Ann Arbor for the third and forth time this season with a 10-0 win and a 8-1 win only last weekend. Leading Lawrence Tech is Sean Pilet with nine points from six assists and three goals. Six Blue Devils have three goals this season, including Pilet, Brenden Preiss, Thimo Ey, Eddie Flood, John Horn and Bryce Ebert. This diverse scoring squad adds to their 5-1-0 season thus far. In net, two new faces for the Blue Devils have been performing as well in the back end, with both Christian Kazoleas and Spencer Krul each only letting in six goals a peice. Kazoleas has 8 saves this season while Krul is only a few behind at 54.

Indiana Tech is 5-2-0 this season, including a 12-1 win versus Eastern Michigan University and a very recent loss to University of Michigan Dearborn where they fell 3-2. The Warriors are led by Cole Barney with ten points from a whopping 10 assists this season.

The ACHA DIII team is 3-3 this season, including a recent loss to Central Michigan University where they fell 4-3 in the second game. Going into this match, the better known as Calvin College, now Calvin University is 3-1 this season, with a most recent close 8-6 win against Davenport University.
