SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's basketball team fell to No. 21 UM-Dearborn 80-64 on Saturday afternoon at Don Ridler Field House.
Lawrence Tech (6-5, 2-4) was led by Jordan Henry with 21 points and six rebounds in 27 minutes off the bench as the Blue Devils trailed the No. 21 team by just two points at halftime, 45-43. Henry had 14 of his 21 points in the first half as the went 4-for-7 from beyond in the arc in the first 20 minutes.
The Wolverines went up 20-8 early in the first half, but the Blue Devils battled back to within eight as Carter Frantz hit a three with 8:01 left in the half to make it a 34-26 game. The Blue Devils would go on a 10-5 run to get within three at 39-36 on an Alek Ivanovic layup and free throw with 3:59 on the clock. Henry hit a pair of free-throws with two seconds left to make it a 45-43 game at the break.
UM-Dearborn extended their lead to 59-49 to start the second half as the Wolverines began to pull away as they went on a 21-11 run to go up 80-60 with 2:38 left in the game to seal the 80-64 win.
Henry led the team in scoring followed by Frantz with 11 points while Gunnar Gustafson finished with 10 points with nine rebounds and three blocks. Ivanovic added six points and four rebounds in the loss.
The Blue Devils return to the court on Friday, December 20 when they host Goshen (Ind.) College at Don Ridler Field House. Opening tip is scheduled for 7 p.m.
