Box Score 2 FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological University men's ACHA DI hockey team hosted the Duquesne Dukes (Pa.) for two back to back home games this past weekend. The first game was won with a stellar 9-3 decision while the second game went very much the same with a 9-2 win.
GAME 1
This first game saw a total domination by the Blue Devils, who prevented the Dukes from scoring until the 10 minute mark in the second half. The Blue Devils had already ran the score up with six to null until the Dukes scored their first goal. Highlighting the night was the hat trick from Blake Heier, who scored the first two goals and the last goal for Lawrence Tech on top of two assists on the night. Bryce Ebert also had a great night with two goals and three assists. In net, Christian Kazoleas grabbed the win with eight saves and no goals against.
GAME 2
The second game of the two game series saw an impressive night from the Blue Devils again. The first half was scoreless as a different face in net for the Dukes stumped LTU for the first 20 minutes. However, the BLue Devils took off in the second and third periods. Another hat trick occurred against the Dukes, this time from the stick of John Horn. Thimo Ey had five assists on the night and one goal, dominating the state column. Spencer Krul spent the whole night in goal, grabbing 16 saves on the night and only having two goals against.
This concludes the Blue Devils efforts for 2019. However, they start up again come January, including their Clark Park Classic that will begin on January 10th and run through the 12th down in Detroit. This outdoor classic brings in the outdoor rink with chilly temperatures and the fun for all family event for those who dare to brave the elements to watch some Blue Devil hockey.
