LAWRENCE TECH FALLS TO UNOH 67-72 ON THE ROAD; FACE AQUINAS IN LAST GAME OF THE 2019 REGULAR SEASON

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The men's Lawrence Technological University men's basketball dropped their match against University of Northwestern Ohio on the road 67-72. Starting off behind in the first half set the Blue Devils up to continue to fight to keep up. Jalen Bethel(FR/Columbus, Ohio) put up a double-double with a team high of 10 rebounds and 19 points. Devonte Myles (SR/Tampa, Fla.) led the team with 20 points.

The first half, Northwestern Ohio was able to shutdown Ty Searles (SR/Pontiac, Mich.), limiting the Lawrence Tech scoring leader to four points in the first half. While Myles and Bethel stepped up with 11 and 10 points respectively, the team was still down 35-27 at half.

In the second, Carter Frantz (FR/Dansville, Mich.) led the team with ten points, while Searles, Myles and Bethel all got nine each. These points kept Lawrence Tech on UNOH's tail, including being within one with 12 minutes left in the game. However, the Racers continually pulled ahead. With a minute left in the game and down by 10, LTU cut the that lead in half with a 3 point shot from Alek Ivanovic (SO/Macomb, Mich.) and a layup by Myles. However a turnover and a foul in the last ten seconds kept the Racer's on top, ending the game 72-67.

The Blue Devils enter their last game of the regular season, another match on the road at Aquinas College on Monday, February 18. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. Lawrence Tech took home the win last time they saw the Saints, defeating them 77-60.
