SOUTHFIELD, Mich.- This week, the Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's tennis team will face off with Berry (Ga.) College, No. 24 Georgetown (Ky.) College, and Gettysburg (Pa.) College at the PTR Spring Tennisfest in Hilton Head Island, S.C.
Lawrence Tech (6-5, 2-0) will play against Berry (0-0, 0-0) on Monday, March 11 at 5:30 p.m. in Hilton Head Beach and Tennis. On Tuesday, March 12, LTU will face off with Georgetown (4-2, 0-0) at 8:15 a.m. in the VanderMeer Tennis Center. Finally, LTU will wrap up its participation in the event on Wednesday, March 13 against Gettysburg (3-2, 0-0) in Chaplin Park at 12:30 p.m.
Last week, the Blue Devils defeated Indiana Tech (2-8, 0-2), 7-2, and Concordia (Mich.) University-Ann Arbor (5-7, 0-3), 6-3, in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action. On Sunday, March 10, LTU notched a 6-3 victory in its PTR Spring Tennisfest opener against Stockton (N.J.) University (7-4, 4-2). Last week, Georgetown defeated Coastal Carolina (S.C.) University, 8-1, in PTR Spring Tennisfest action. The Tigers have won three matches and lost one over this spring season so far.
Berry will open its 2019 season in the matchup against Lawrence Tech. Last year, the Vikings finished with an overall record of 9-7 and 2-4 in the NCAA Division III Southern Athletic Association conference. Berry was eliminated by Oglethorpe (Ga.) University in the SAA quarterfinals.
Gettysburg will face off with Nebraska Wesleyan prior to its match against the Blue Devils. Last week, the Bullets fell 5-4 to Gordon (Mass.) College in its spring season and PTR Spring Tennisfest opener.
