Box Score 3 SYLVANIA, Ohio – The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's volleyball team wrapped up the regular season with three games at the Lourdes Invitational in Sylvania, Ohio. The Blue Devils fell to Charleston (W.Va.) 3-0 on Friday, March 29 and lost to Campbellsville (Ky.) University 3-1 and Cardinal Stritch (Wis.) 3-1 on Saturday, March 30.
Lawrence Tech now head to the first ever WHAC Tournament as the fourth seed, facing top-seed Lourdes in the semifinal on Friday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. The tournament is hosted at Lourdes with the first semifinal game at 5 p.m. between the second seed Aquinas (Mich.) College and third seed Siena Heights (Mich.) University.
In match one on Friday, the Blue Devils fell 25-19, 25-22, and 25-17. The Blue Devils hit .159 with 31 kills and 18 errors. They finished with 29 assists and 14 service errors. Zachary Narkiewicz led the way with 10 kills and a .217 hitting percentage. Lawrence Patton recorded 28 assists and one ace.
On Saturday morning, Lawrence Tech dropped the first two sets to Campbellsville 25-13, and 25-11 before taking set three 25-20. The Tigers finished the match by taking set four 25-19. The Blue Devils did not have a positive hitting percentage with 34 attack errors, 9 reception errors, and 15 service errors. Calvin Ooms led the way with seven kills. Patton had 24 assists and one ace.
In the final match on the weekend, the Blue Devils once again dropped the first two sets 25-11 and 25-20 before taking set three 27-25. The Wolves took set four 27-25 to secure the 3-1 win. Lawrence Tech hit .147 with 40 kills and 23 errors. They finished with seven aces and 18 block assists to go with a solo block. Ooms led the way with 15 kills and .333 hitting percentage. Patton recorded 33 assists.
