SOUTHFIELD, Mich.- This week, the Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's tennis team will face its first two Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference foes of the season and will play its first match at the PTR Spring Tennisfest. The Blue Devils will host Indiana Tech and Concordia (Mich.) University-Ann Arbor on March 6 and 7, respectively, at 12:30 p.m. at the Franklin Athletic Club. LTU will then face off with Stockton (N.J.) University on Sunday, March 10 at Evian Tennis Center in Hilton Head, S.C.
Lawrence Tech leads the all-time series against the Warriors, 5-1, and the Cardinals, 5-0. This will be the first time the Blue Devils and the Ospreys face each other in the program's history.
Last week, LTU fell to Wayne State (Mich.) University, 7-0, and Lake Superior State (Mich.) University, 8-1. So far this season, the Blue Devils have the following individual records:
Concordia (5-6, 0-2) arrives at the matchup against the Blue Devils with a four-loss streak. The Cardinals fell 7-2 to Capital (Ohio) University and 9-0 to the University of Northwestern Ohio, Roosevelt (Ill.) University and Aquinas (Mich.) College.
Indiana Tech (2-7, 0-1) have lost three matches and won one in this 2019. The Warriors fell 7-2 to Grand Valley State (Mich.) University, 5-4 to Indiana University-Kokomo, and 6-3 to the University of Northwestern Ohio. Indiana Tech defeated Defiance (Ohio) College, 6-3.
Stockton (7-3, 4-2) will open its 2019 spring season against Lawrence Tech. The Ospreys won their last matches in the fall against Kean (N.J.) University (9-0), Immaculata (Pa.) University (6-3), Rutgers (N.J.) University-Newark (9-0), and Ramapo (N.J.) College (5-3).
