Box Score SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's volleyball team fell to No. 2-ranked Lourdes (Ohio) University 3-1 (25-19, 25-16, 26-24, 24-26) on Wednesday night at Don Ridler Field House in Southfield, Mich.
Lawrence Tech (10-12, 2-5) dropped the opening two sets to Lourdes, but the Blue Devils battled back to take the third set. Lawrence Tech played Lourdes to a close set early and took a 17-12 lead after a 7-2 run. The Gray Wolves tied the set at 20-20, but the Blue Devils took the final two points to make it 2-1.
Lourdes (12-2, 5-0) came back in the fourth set after trailing 16-13 and 19-16 to secure the match 26-24. Calvin Ooms led the way for Lawrence Tech with 12 kills and a .280 hitting percentage while Gospel Sua recorded 20 assists. Lourdes was led by a trio of players with over 14 kills each led by Evan Gebert with 16. Jeff Lam finished with 14 kills and a .600 hitting percentage.
Lawrence Tech is back on the courts March 7 when they face Cincinnati Christian (Ohio) University at 5 p.m.
