SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The (RV) Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's volleyball team defeated Concordia University – Ann Arbor 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-10) to run their shutout streak to six matches and move to 9-1 on the season.

Lawrence Tech (9-1, 3-0) were led by Zakia Hunt with 14 kills and a career high .778 hitting percentage as she did not have an error on 18 total attacks. Kristi Doherty finished the day with 28 assists and 13 digs while Nichole Hyduk recorded four aces with 15 digs. Jessica Lodge added eight kills while Isabella McDonald finished with four.

HOW THEY DID IT

SET ONE

Lawrence Tech jumped out to a 10-2 lead as Lodge and Varvara Gromakova served them into the lead. Hunt, McDonald, and Doherty had kills for the Blue Devils in the early stages of the set. They pushed their lead to 22-9 with Gromakova helping off the serve with an ace while Hunt added a couple of kills. The Blue Devils closed the set out 25-13 to take a 1-0 lead.

SET TWO

The second set was more of the same for LTU as they took an early 5-1 lead as Shelby Rasch and Gromakova opened the set serving for the Blue Devils. Concordia came back and took a 11-9 lead as Tara Schaltze served for the Cardinals. McDonald made it 11-10 and a Concordia error tied the game at 11-11. Hyduk went on a run during her serve, giving Lawrence Tech a 14-12 lead. Three attack errors by the Cardinals closed the set for LTU, 25-18 to give Lawrence Tech a 2-0 lead.  

SET THREE

Lawrence Tech continued to dominate the match as they went up 8-3 on kills from Hunt and Lodge. They pushed the lead to 15-6 and ended the set up 25-10 as Alexis Snider served the final point for the Blue Devils.
