Box Score SOUTHFIELD, Mich. Losers of 4 straight something was bound to change for this young Blue Devils squad and that was the case on Wednesday night in the Don Ridler Field House. With the Blue Devils of Lawrence Technological University (Mich.) taking down the 13th ranked Grey Wolves of Lourdes University (Ohio) to the tune of 71-64. The Blue Devils started the game early having the hot hand going up 12-5 in the opening minutes of the first half. From there the Blue Devils would go back and forth with the Grey Wolves to end the half tied 29-29. The second half was the turning point for the Blue Devils when they took the lead at the 7:53 mark going up 51-49. The Blue Devils wouldn't look back from there stringing together a series of runs and keeping the Grey Wolves a bay on their way to their first victory of the New Year.
Overall the Blue Devils shot 22-56 (39.3%) from the field and 13-40 (32.5%) from beyond the arc on the night. They were outrebounded by just one 37-36 on the boards and were dishing out assist left and right beating the Grey Wolves 16-8 in assist on the night. The Blue Devils had four players in double-digits tonight lead by sophomore transfer Jordan Henry who dropped 26 pts on the night alongside 5 rebounds. Other contributors on the night are Freshman Brand Beavers with 14 pts, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists alongside, Sophomore Carter Frantz with 16 pts, and Freshman Gunnar Gustafson with 10 pts.
Looking ahead the Blue Devils head over to the west side of the state for a matchup against perennial powerhouse and conference foe Cornerstone University on Saturday afternoon in Grand Rapids, Mich.
