SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Lawrence Tech Women's Volleyball team lost their home opener to the Warriors of Indiana Tech Saturday, October 10th. The Warriors came out hot as they took care of the first two sets. The Blue Devils were able to bounce back in the third set, but it just wasn't enough as Indiana Tech finished off the fourth set with a victory to seal the win. Indiana Tech defeated Lawrence Tech in four sets (25-23, 25-18, 22-25, 25-18).
The team attack percentage fluctuated throughout the game, but by the end of the match, the team's total attacks were 44. Leading in total attempts once again was Isabella McDonald with 51 and Riley O'Connell with 48. Senior Shelby Rasch had a stellar defensive performance for the Blue Devils, leading the team in digs with 21. Alongside her defensively was Freshman Gneiss Aramburu with 19 digs. The leaders on the day for total kills during the match were Riley O'Connell with 17 and a substantial kill percentage of .208. Madeline Hudson also added 13 kills and a kill percentage of .286. The team ended the match recording a total of 49 kills, 44 assists, and 66 digs.
The Blue Devils (1-1) will be at home Wednesday, October 14th, against conference opponent Concordia University Ann Arbor at the Don Ridler Fieldhouse. The match is set to begin at 7 PM.
